Turmeric Lattes... Yum or Yuck?

Are you looking for something to replace your nighttime cup of tea that will still help you relax and wind down for bed? I thought I would take it upon myself to try this Turmeric latte recipe I found from Lauren Elizabeth who shared it in one of her Youtube videos recently. 

Turmeric is a popular ingredient at the moment and I thought I would try it out and replace my go to peppermint tea with this healthy latte. (I found my Turmeric at Whole Foods).

Turmeric has a lot of health benefits, such as detoxing your body of nasty toxins, lowers blood sugar levels, and eases your digestive system. All of those things help you fall asleep faster at night and help you wake up feeling rejuvenated.

Turmeric Latte Recipe:

1 Cup Vanilla Almond Milk, unsweetened (or your fav milk)

½ teaspoon Turmeric

¼ teaspoon Ginger

1/8 teaspoon Cinnamon

Pinch of Pepper (to activate the Turmeric)

1 teaspoon Honey

(A tiny bit of cocoanut oil for more sweetness)

Over the stove whisk together all of the ingredients until well combined and it is simmering. Transfer into your cute mug and garnish with pepper or cinnamon.

Sip away!

My overall thoughts- Yum! It’s tasty, but definitely takes a few sips to get used to. I might add a little more cinnamon next time I make it as well. I would definitely make this again at night to help me wind down and relax before slipping my eye mask on and going to sleep.
