It's (almost) 80 degrees and sunny so have you booked your summer vacay yet? We've compiled a list of our picks for the 5 top east coast travel destinations for this summer. We would love to hear your thoughts so please hit us up in the comment section! Happy road trippin'
1. MONTAUK, NY
Montauk is my personal favorite on the list. I've been heading out here since I was a baby and still spend a lot of my time here in the summer. For some reason the water seemed to calm my cranky ass down and I feel like it still has the same effect. Montauk is a great summer vacation spot for surfers, families, party animals or anyone who just wants to relax. Getting here from NYC can be a bitch so make sure to leave at odd hours or take a private plane or helicopter (GOALS).
Some cool spots to check out are:
A classic Montauk spot for grabbing a drink and dinner and watching live music. Stop by on Sunday for live music and a chill scene.
Pricey but worth it. This restaurant has incredible food and views over looking Lake Montauk and gorgeous sunsets
Stop by on a Friday night for karaoke and strong drinks. This is a cash bar + make sure you tip the bartender as they are not too keen on out-of-towners.
2. LAKE GEORGE, NY
Another favorite spot of mine to check out is the adorable town of Lake George, NY Located roughly 4 hours north of New York City, Lake George is a popular destination during the summer and winter months. The Lake is absolutely gorgeous and filled with fun activities. Rent a boat and enjoy the massive lake, water ski or just lounge and work on your tan. The town is filled with bars and waterside restaurants to hang out and relax. My favorite place to stay is The Sagamore hotel located a bit outside of town. The hotel has a world class spa, fabulous pool overlooking the lake and an incredible restaurant.
3. ASBURY PARK, NJ
Just 1 1/2 hours south of New York City, Asbury Park NJ is the perfect beach getaway for a day or weekend trip. A part of the Jersey Shore (completely different vibe than the show), Asbury Park has more to offer than just the sand. Check out this chic hotel, The Asbury which offers yoga, live music and an outdoor movie theatre.
4. CATSKILL MOUNTAINS
If you're not into the beach not to worry. Head up to the Catskill mountains in upstate New York and become one with nature. The Catskills are only 1 1/2 hours north of New York City and because you are in the mountains, the temperature is a bit cooler (about 10 degrees). This is a great way to escape the heat and humidity of the city.

5. NANTUCKET, MA
Although I didn't grow up in New England, I have a great appreciation for Nantucket. The beaches resemble the dunes of the Hamptons and the town is quaint and super clean. Arrive by boat or plane and ride around town on your bike (no need for a car). I've had some of the best sushi at Lola 41 and one of the best burgers at Stubby's
