Are you dreading tomorrow? Well, you don't have to. Here are 5 easy ways to get rid of your current feeling AKA 'Sunday Scaries'.
1. Write it all out
Most of us (myself included) are bombarded with negative thoughts that are all-consuming. There is no sense in driving yourself crazy with things that: 1.) You have zero control over and 2.) Are probably not as bad as you think. The best thing to do is take a piece of paper and just write down everything on your mind. It doesn't have to make any sense at all- just get it out. You will feel so much lighter after this.
2. Plan for the week ahead
Don't worry! This is not a homework assignment. Take all of your thoughts from step 1. and organize them by day. I don't care if you have to walk your dog, finish a report, or get your nails done. Write everything down. This way, you can see it all in front of you and your agenda will seem minuscule on paper compared to in your head. The most rewarding part is crossing off your completed tasks from the list.
3. Be Grateful
I started a Gratitude Journal after reading the book 'You Are A Badass' by Jen Sincero and it has really changed my mental and spiritual well being. I am not bull**itting you. This is a gamechanger. Write down 10 things each night (or morning) that you are grateful for. It can be anything from being thankful for a sunny day to winning a million dollars in the lottery. Just write it down.
4. Watch TV
This is coming from personal experience. If you follow me on Instagram you have seen my posts about my love for the show 'Schitt's Creek' on Netflix. Watching a funny entertaining show on a Sunday is pretty relaxing. Also, laughter helps sooth the mind and body prepping you for a good night's sleep.
5. SLEEP
Duh! Sleep is important people! We all know that sleep is great for you, but the real question is how do you get a solid night's sleep? After completing steps 1-4, slip on your sleep mask and hit the pillow. You will be so relaxed and zen that the next thing you remember is hitting the snooze button in the am.
Sleep well.
